In-office power bleaching can drastically change the shade of your teeth in 1 hour.  The procedure is painless and you can relax during the treatment.

There are several in-office teeth whitening tools available.  We have been using ZOOM2 system by DISCUS Dental with satisfactory results.  The steps of the procedure could be summarized as follows:

1)  Dr. Mirghassemi will check your teeth and gum to ensure that they are in a good condition for tooth whitening.

2)  The shade of your teeth is determined using a shade guide and recorded.

3)  Teeth are isolated by placing special protective material on the gum and the mouth tissues.

4)  ZOOM2 gel is applied to your teeth

5)  T he ZOOM2 light source is turned on to activate the gel and start the whitening process.   This step is repeated up to 4 times.

6)  The patient rinse and an after shade is recorded

Depending on the number of shades, it might be necessary to use a custom made home tray for 2 days after the in-office ZOOM2 treatment to achieve a uniform bright shade. 

Sometimes teeth in some patients show sensitivity to cold after the treatment, however, the symptoms disappear in 2 days.
