Sealants

Sealants are acrylic-like material that forms a protecting barrier between the tooth and decay causing bacteria from the chewing surfaces of the back teeth.

Sealants are applied to the chewing surface of teeth of children who have grown their first permanent back molars, although, it is shown that adults can benefit from this procedure as well.  The procedure is painless and only takes a few minutes to complete while the material can last for many years.

It is a cost effective method of preventing decay is certain surfaces of targeted teeth.
